TV-K (ages 2 to 6): Proper for children, especially for the youngest. Total absence of violent acts or words, dirty words and sex-related language or scenes.
TV-G (ages 6 to 7): Proper for children of all ages, but not specifically produced for the 2 to 6 age bracket. Almost features no violent acts, dirty words or sex-related language or scenes. Parents should be OK with children watching this type of program.
TV-7(ages 7 to 10): Proper for a 7-year-old child or older. Programs may feature violent acts performed in a comical way, with the occasional use of dirty words, almost no sex-related content. They feature some amount of fantasy and thus require ability to distinguish between the real and the imaginary. Parents need to select programs and supervise the viewing. Better not let children under age 7 watch.
TV-PG (ages 10 to 14): Not proper for children of younger ages, especially children under the age of 10. The program may contain a medium amount of violent scenes, some dirty words, some sex-related content, some dialogues that suggest inappropriate social values. Parental guidance is needed while children view the program.
TV-14(above 14 years): Not proper for children under the age of 14. Programs many feature fierce violent acts, a large amount of dirty words, plenty sex-related language or scenes. Parents must not allow children under 14 to watch this type of program alone.
