"Once is a mistake, twice is jazz." This quote, attributed to Miles Davis, the legendary jazz musician, is practiced by jazz musicians all over the world.

It speaks to how improvisation is king in this style of music. For the Jukebox, a jazz band from France, these are words to live by.

"If we made a mistake, we just make it sound natural, as if it were part of the music," said Ben Rando, piano and keyboards player in the band.

According to Rando, five of the band members work on their own projects, and when they come together to mix and match, they'll discover what sounds best together.

They have played in various genres including Jazz, Soul music and Chanson Francaise, developing iconoclastic arrangements and improvisations, making their music all the more intuitive and contagious.

The musicians they have covered range from pop king Michael Jackson to punk poet Patti Smith, and bands from alternative dance style Depeche Mode to grunge band Nirvana.
