Guo Yazhi, known as "the best wind instrument player of China" joined the ensemble when Gabrielle Goodman, a professor from Berklee College of Music (BCM) and its graduates staged "Sound of Berklee" at Xi'an Concert Hall in Shaanxi province.
Goodman, hailed as the "Whitney Houston of jazz" in America, has released four solo albums that have won high praise among American fans. Goodman's performances of Rolling in the Deep and Sometimes captured the hearts of the audience.
Tian Zhen (Jenny Tian), a graduate from BCM, performed the self-penned My Belief.
Graduates of BCM first organized an international band named Sun Beatzz in the US last year. It writes and records English and Chinese songs in different styles, mainly pop-rock with jazz influences.
