Chinese pop singer Zhang Wei, former lead vocalist of the band Hua'er (Flowers), put on a show at Beijing's New World Department Store on Nov 13 to celebrate the 17th anniversary of the store's opening.
Zhang performed most of his hits and welcomed a few fans to sing with him on stage. The 32-year-old Beijing-born singer rose to fame at 15 after appearing on some TV talent shows. His band Hua'er was once among the most popular bands in China. After it disbanded in 2009, Zhang continued his career as singer/songwriter.
Zhang's performance is just one of many celebration events at the department store in November. Customers will also get many discounts while shopping this month.
