A promotion combining the dance drama The Silk Road on the Sea and a seminar on Chinese and European culture was held at the European Institute of Asian Studies in Brussels, Belgium, on Jan 25.
Some 150 officials from the Directorate-General for Education and Culture of the European Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium and Leiden University were present.
Artists from Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region performed dances from The Silk Road on the Sea. As one of the "Image China" projects of the Chinese Arts and Entertainment Group (CAEG), the drama was staged for the public in Brussels two days later.
CAEG aims to use "Image China" - a series of performances - to introduce traditional Chinese culture and performing arts around the world.
It was the second time for "Happy Chinese New Year" and "Image China" to be promoted in EU institutions.
Supported by the Bureau for External Cultural Relations of the Ministry of Culture of China, a photo exhibition titled "New Look of the Silk Road" is scheduled to be held.
