The Academy of St Martin in the Fields is one of the world's premier chamber orchestras, renowned for its fresh, brilliant interpretations of the world's most-loved classical music. Formed by Sir Neville Marriner in 1958 from a group of leading London musicians, the Academy gave its first performance in its namesake church in November 1959. Life President of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, Sir Neville Marriner began his career as a violinist, playing first in a string quartet and trio, then in the London Symphony Orchestra. During this period he founded the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, with the aim of forming a top-class chamber ensemble from London's finest players. As a player, Sir Neville had observed some of the greatest conductors at close quarters.

Masaaki Kishibe is an acoustic guitarist from Japan. While Kishibe is widely known around Japan and other eastern countries, he was not particularly well known in the US until he performed at the 32nd Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, KS in 2003 taking 2nd place overall in Fingerstyle Guitar; then subsequently touring with guitarist another former Walnut Valley winner, Andy McKee, throughout Taiwan. As McKee continued to rise to fame in the US, and helped bring attention to fingerstyle playing with the uploading of his videos of Rylynn and Drifting to YouTube garnering millions of plays and overnight fandom.
