The 2016 Sino-Foreign Audiovisual Translation and Dubbing Cooperation Workshop and Symposium (SFATD) launched in Beijing today.
Themed "Translating Movies, Sharing Cultures", the workshop will last until June 15. Some 60 delegates from 30 countries attended the event.
During the 10-day workshop, the delegates will get a better understanding of the development history and present situation of the Chinese film industry through a series of activities in Beijing and Shanghai. The event will feature in-depth discussions and communications on the promotion of audiovisual translation and mutual study on film and TV production between China and other countries.
Zhu Qi, deputy director of the External Cultural Relations of the Ministry of Culture of China; Zhou Jihong, deputy director of the International Cooperation Department of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television; Qi Dexiang, vice-president of Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) and Liao Xiangzhong, vice-president of Communication University of China (CUC), presented the workshop's opening event.
