An exhibition reviewing the history of Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture, Guizhou province, opened in the Cultural Palace of Nationalities in Beijing on Monday.
The one-week exhibition unfolds the region's economic, social, ecological and cultural development in four halls. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the founding of the prefecture.

An expo, tourism promotion events and ethnic art performances will also be held through the exhibition.
In Qiandongnan, 276 villages are inscribed in the national list of traditional village, more than in any other city-level administrative region in China. Non-Han ethnic groups comprise 80.2 of its 4.63 million population.
