The northern city of Heihe and Russia’s Amur Oblast administrative centre, Blagoveshchensk, will host the seventh China-Russia Cultural Fair in August, according to the Heilongjiang Provincial Government.
The theme of this year's fair – announced at a press conference in Harbin on July 22 – is cultural exchange and trade, economic cooperation and prosperous development. It will be held from August 11-15, opening first in Blagoveshchensk and then in Heihe the next day. Various activities will be classified into six units: high-end talk, sales exhibition, art performance, folk culture, sports culture and cultural tourism.
The integration of high-level dialogue and public participation is the feature of the fair. As for sales exhibition, there will be embroideries in northern China, famous Chinese calligraphers and painters' works and Russia's cultural products on display. What's more, to help writers from both countries better know each other, the first bilateral contemporary literature seminar and copyright trade fair will be held during the event.
On the principle of equality and cooperation, the 2016 China-Russia Cultural Fair will underscore cultural exchange and value cultural trade. It intends to be a significant large-scale systematic platform for cultural exchange. It also aspires to be a special, lucrative and influential cross-border distribution hub for cultural trade.
