125 root sculptures shine with natural beauty in Fujian

An exhibition featuring 125 root sculptures was held in Fuzhou in Fujian province yesterday.

Among the showpieces, a set of 20 root carvings with extravagant shapes, named "Life", were specially highlighted due to their vivid design.

"It took me four years to finish these works. With the help of a machine, I applied a different carving method to each of them," said Huang Qingluan, the creator of "Life".

Some sculptors were invited to demonstrate their art at the event, attracting large crowds of visitors.

"We aim to use the exhibition to provide a platform for the inheritance of our traditional arts and crafts," said Qiu Ruikun, president of the Fujian Sculpture Arts Association.

"The artists bring new life to the roots and let them shine with the beauty of nature."
