Feng Xiaogang's new directorial movie I'm Not Madame Bovary celebrated its triumph in two international festivals in Beijing.

The movie, adapted from a hit novel written by Liu Zhenyun, won the Prize of the International Federation of Film Critics for Special Presentation at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept 18.

In the just concluded 64th San Sebastian Film Festival, the film claimed the Golden Shell, the event's top prize for best picture and the best actress award.

Feng says he tries hard to set aside all his past experience and habits to make this unlikely satire.

The film will be released on the Chinese mainland on Nov 18.
