The ongoing China-Japan-South Korea Art Festival is an indispensable part of autumn activities, just like the campaign's opening ceremony in spring and the China-Japan-South Korea Youth Games in summer.

According to Lv Yong, vice-director of Ningbo's Culture, Radio, Television, Press and Publication Administration, three 2016 Culture Cities of East Asia, namely Ningbo, Japan's Nara and South Korea's Jeju, contributed to the festival. Former culture cities also pitched in, including Yokohama and Gwangju. They promoted their local art projects and keenly communicated with one another.
