Soong Ching Ling revealed
To commemorate the 120th birthday of Soong Ching Ling, an exhibition showcases the contributions made by the wife of Sun Yat-sen and her two sisters to the fight against Japanese aggression from 1937 to 1945. It is open to the public in Guangzhou until Feb 28. On display are more than 100 photos, including the one capturing the Soong sisters' reunion in 1940 and speeches to the US asking for support. Audiences can see the only extant photo of the whole Soong family, which was taken in 1917. Exhibits, such as the chairs Sun sat on and Soong's scarf and high-heeled sandals, offer a peek at the couple's life at the Sun Yat-sen Mansion in Guangzhou.

A red-letter dance
Outstanding choreographers from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao worked together on the modern dance drama Love Letters that will air in Guangzhou on Feb 22. Modern dance has been incorporated with hip-hop and tap dance elements, complementing romantic classics from Chopin, Mahler and Ravel. Love Letters traces the journey of five love letters without addresses to various cities over 20 years. The stage design is artistic, with, for example, letters flying all over the stage.
8 pm, Feb 22-24. Friendship Theater, 696 Renmin Beilu, Yuexiu district, Guangzhou. 020-8666-8991.
