"Interior No. 4", Tom Wesselmann, 1965, assemblage
Based on the Photorealism that evolved from Pop Art, Tom Wesselmann (1931-2004) distinguished his works from those of environmental art through a particular insight. He succeeded in reflecting trivial affairsf, which is the tradition of Pop Art.
Wesselmann tried to achieve Photorealism through real objects, but the imitation turns out to be illusion.[Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]
