The Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong has partnered with Production Q to launch The City Book, where travel stories featured will be told through artwork created by selected artists with strong links to Hong Kong. An exhibition at the hotel's Clipper Lounge, featuring the works of eight participating artists, is running through Feb 3.
As the official hotel of Art Basel Hong Kong, which runs March 24-26 this year, the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong supports the ongoing local art scene in several ways. The City Book explores the city through artist perspectives, as each artist shares a personal story of city life through texts, images or anecdotes, interpreting themes from heritage to language and identity.
Artists with works featured at Clipper Lounge include Au Yeung Nai Chim, Charles Munka, Jin Meyerson, Enoch Cheung, Evan Wu, Lau Ching Ping, Romain Jacquet-Lagreze and Lok Ming Fung. Other artists who are included in the book project are Tsang Kin-Wah and Ho Sin Tung. The City Book - Hong Kong edition is created with association with MobArt.
