Twelve years - that's the time Chinese retiree Feng Shuyuan has dedicated to recreating the ancient Chinese masterpiece Along the River During the Qingming Festival. He used wood as his canvas and carving tools as brushes to create a three-dimensional version.

Feng, in his 60s, set up the mini building complex on a camphorwood board measuring 7 meters long and 0.7 meters wide at his home in Hengyang city, Central China's Hunan province. He is not even a professional carpenter but a retired worker at a local tractor factory.

Nearly 1,000 sculpted items were included in the art piece, including officials riding on horses, vendors, monks as well as camels, towers and houses.
