Edvard Munch's 'Girls' to be auctioned at Sotheby's in November

Edvard Munch's painting of 1902, Girls on the Bridge, will go under the hammer in a New York sale on Nov 14, with a pre-sale estimate exceeding $50 million.

The Norwegian painter's iconic work, The Scream, sold for a record $120 million at an auction four years ago in New York.

Girls on the Bridge, to be appear in Sotheby's saleroom, portrays a cluster of young women in the middle of a secret talk. The work shows Munch's continuous exploration with motifs such as sexual awakening and death.

The sale will also auction paintings of Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso and Tamara de Lempicka.
