On September 26, Changsha-ROK Sejong School was inaugurated in Hunan Normal University. It is the 21st Sejong school in China and the first one in Hunan Province jointly established by China and South Korea, marking the expansion of cultural exchanges between South Korea and Hunan.
According to Party secretary of Hunan Normal University Li Min, four universities in Hunan including Hunan Normal University and Central South University of Forestry and Technology have established the Department of Korean Language and Literature, and another 5 colleges have set up Korean major. The opening of Changsha-ROK Sejong School will strengthen the training of Korean language talents. It is reported that Sejong School runs in a similar mode of the Confucius Institute in our country. Hunan Normal University is in charge of the School’s management while South Korea is responsible for sending professional teachers, mainly providing short-term training for non-Korean majors at universities, junior colleges, and technical secondary schools in China.
