Changsha South Railway Station recently raised up the parking fee from 20 yuan per day to 50 yuan per day aimed at reducing vehicles staying overnight and improving the utilization rate of parking

An operator on duty of Changsha Rail Transit and Management co. said that the passenger flow volume in Changsha South Railway station has grown rapidly in recent two years, as well as vehicles. Right before the price adjustment, around 1200 to 1300 vehicles staying here overnight during festivals and holidays, accounting for 70 percent of the total parking vehicles.

It is learnt that this new price adjustment was approved confirmed by commodity and price

Department and targeted at vehicles staying overnight, which will not affect temporary parking cars.

"The standard for temporary parking cars is unchanged with 3 yuan an hour and free within an hour. We hope to reduce the numbers of vehicles staying overnight and boost the usage rate of parking lot. We suggest residents take public traffic tools to the station," an officer from the commodity and price bureau said.
