On January 28, Cui Li, the vice-minister of National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC), made inspections to ensure Changsha's health emergency work and healthcare reform is continuous and progressive.
Together with a delegation, she inspected the Hunan Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Xiangya Hospital Central South University, Maojiaqiao Poultry Wholesale Market, Dongfeng street community health center and Hunan provincial center for reserves of emergency supplies. The vice minister also attended a health reform forumwhere she was briefed about the work report by the Health and Family Planning Commission of Hunan province, and had discussions about health emergency work and healthcare reform.
Cui praised the improvements made in the fields of health emergency work and healthcare reform in Hunan. She stressed that Hunan province should strengthen the prevention mechanisms for H7N9 influenza and Ebola viruses, and make efforts to manage poultry wholesale market to prevent H7N9. Cui pointed out that health emergency ability building is a long-term task. Next step is to further strengthen health emergency system at provincial, municipal and prefectural levels and to push forward public hospitals reform, she added.
Xu Shuqiang, the director of the NHFPC's Health Emergency Response Office, Zhang Guoxin, the commissioner of the department, Wang Xuening, the deputy secretary of the CPC Committee of NHFPC, Yao Jianghong, the deputy director-general of the Department of Healthcare Reform as well as Zhan Ming, the secretary of the Health and Family Planning Commission of Hunan Province (HFPCHP), and Fang Yibing, the deputy director of the HFPCHP accompanied Cui during her inspection.
