March 2 marked the first day of school for children following the end of their winter holiday. Innovative interactions and experimental social activities have now become the main theme of the opening ceremonies for many schools in Changsha.

Primary schools in Yuhua district started their first classes teaching children love and responsibility, with particular focus on civil education. Fengshushan Daqiao Primary School, for example, launched a volunteer service activity on the first day of the school, in which students were taken to No 106 bus stops to help advocate green commuting and civilized travel.

Schools in Yuelu district tried to maintain students' holiday joy with activities featuring the New Year and family reunion atmosphere. Tongzipo Primary School opened their first class with readings of poems related to the spring and traditional festivals.
