Tourists view cotton varieties in the newly-built cotton culture museum.
5,000 articles are exhibited in the museum.
China’s first cotton culture museum opened in Huarong County, Yueyang City of Hunan Province on June 23, devoted to passing down, sorting and promoting cotton culture.
The newly-built museum with a floor area of 10,000 square meters cost a total of 30 million yuan. 5,000 articles are preserved and exhibited in 20 rooms of five halls including the medical hall, cotton hall, cotton spinning hall, non-woven fabrics hall and research institute.
The museum welcomed throngs of visitors on the opening day. Over 1,000 tourists came here to learn about evolution of cotton culture road, cotton varieties and cotton processing, the origin and promotion of cotton spinning, innovation of cotton spinning, development history of industry-use textiles.
This museum will collect more cotton culture exhibits and be free to the public all the year round.
