Foreign languages and literatures alliance founded in JXNU

The founding meeting of the Jiangxi Foreign Languages and Literatures Alliance was held in Jiangxi Normal University from July 8 to 10. A high-level foreign literature research forum was staged.

The alliance is a joint effort among Jiangxi Normal University's foreign language institute and narratology research center and the Jiangxi provincial foreign literature society. Yao Yixia, vice-principal of the university, delivered a speech. More than 50 leading experts were present, including Jiang Chengyong, chairman of the Zhejiang Federation of Humanities and Social Sciences Circles, Nie Zhenzhao, vice-chairman of the China foreign literature society, and others from Nanjing University, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Central China Normal University.

Yao extended congratulations on the founding of the alliance and a warm welcome to all the guests. She introduced Jiangxi Normal University's history and development over the years and pointed out that the university has always valued the humanities and social sciences. Yao hoped that experts will continue to support the university's development. She also called on the university to take the opportunity of the founding of the alliance and forum to boost academic exchange and cooperation and accelerate development in its disciplines. She encouraged all guests to speak their minds and brainstorm to push forward that development.

Several other experts made keynote speeches at the academic discussion session, exchanging views on issues on the frontline of foreign literature studies.
