About 1,000 government officials, artists and visitors from China and Russia gathered for the opening ceremony of an art exhibition in Nanchang, capital of East China’s Jiangxi province on Oct 1.

Mei Guoping, head of JXNU, briefed the attendees on the development of the university’s painting and sculpture training and expressed his hope of deepening communication and exchange between Chinese and Russian artists to continue development of traditional painting.
About 10 scholars and experts including Ma Zhiming, assisant dean of JXNU’s School of Fine Arts, attended an academic forum after the ceremony.
Also present were Chi Hong, head of Jiangxi’s culture department, JXNU’s Party chief Tian Yanguang and heads of art associations from China and Russia.
