Corban Festival marked among Chinese muslims (Xinhua) Updated: 2006-01-11 13:18
A group of Uygur college students, dressed in ethnic
costumes, take photos in a park of Hangzhou,East
China's Zhejiang Province, to mark the Corban Festival on
Tuesday. The festival, also known as Id al-Gurban, is a major Islamic
festival during which people slay livestock for celebrations. Ten ethnic
groups in China, including the Hui, Uygur, Dongxiang and Bao'an,
celebrated the annual festival on Tuesday.
