Persistent drought hits Guangdong

A farmer herds his buffalo to graze on
the dried-up bed of a reservoir in Xuwen County, south China's Guangdong
Province February 21, 2006. Due to persistent drought plaguing the Leizhou
Peninsula, many farmers have difficulty in getting drinking water.
Weather department say the drought may continue until May, and
authorities are taking measures to help the farmers.
