Prince William’s girlfriend Kate Middleton visited him at Sandhurst yesterday — renewing talk of a royal engagement.
Royal watchers said it was “highly significant” 23-year-old Kate had been invited by William tolook roundhis military base.
And Kate sat with Prince Charles at a special service in the chapel at Sandhurst.
Charles and Kate then joined William, 23, for a curry lunch with other members of his Blenheim Company in Old College.
A military source said: “William was delighted and proudly showed Kate round.
“They seemed besotted with each other.
“It was the first time she has visited Sandhurst since he began his officer training.”
Kate Middleton was born & grew up in the UK where she was privately educated at top public school for girls. Early on, Kate excelled in academia and the arts. Kate also possessed a natural prowess in sport gaining the position of Hockey Team Captain1 and competed in numerous tennis tournaments. Among many other leisure interests, Kate enjoys Sailing, Polo, running and is an accomplished skier. During a ‘year out’ Kate enjoyed working as part of a yachting team sailing the Atlantic in a sailing regatta and also spent time undertaking charity work in Chile.
Kate's supporters regard her as a positive influence on the Prince, and a woman who would make a first-rate consort to the future king. Others point to their relative youth and question the advisability of such a big step at this stage.
