Madonna has announced the dates of her forthcoming world tour, which kicks off in Los Angeles on 21 May.

"I'm going to turn the world into one big dance floor," the Material Mom, 47, said in a statement.

This tour, in support of her 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor, will mark Madonna's first since the "Re-Invention Tour" of two years ago. Madonna's"Re-Invention Tour" in 2004 saw her play 56 shows worldwide, including dates in Manchester, London and the Republic of Ireland. The queen of pop's schedule includes her first concert in Wales at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on 30 July.
She will also perform at London's Wembley Arena on 1 and 3 of August reports BBC news UK.

Other European tour dates include Paris, Amsterdam, Rome, Duesseldorf, Hanover and Horsens in Denmark.

In North America Madonna will perform in San Jose, Fresno, Phoenix, Chicago, Montreal, Hartford, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Miami and Los Angeles.

Tickets for the UK performances, which range from 80 to 160 pounds, go on sale on Friday for the Wembley Arena performances on August 1 and 3, and a fortnight later for Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, where the singer plays on July 30.

The US leg will include Chicago, Boston, San Jose, Phoenix, Fresno, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Miami, Montreal and New York.
From there additional dates will be added for concerts in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan.


Jean Paul Gaultier will design costumes for Madonna and her troupe of dancers and musicians.

Madonna will perform at her first music festival in California in April before she goes on tour. She will play at the two-day Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival alongside Daft Punk and Massive Attack.

"I've never performed at a festival and I'm especially excited about playing at Coachella before I start my own tour," the singer said.

"Confessions On A Dance Floor", has been greeted with critical acclaim. Her latest single "Sorry" debuted at No 1 in the UK Top 10 singles charts in February reports Reuters..
