Victoria Beckham picks up some new sparklers

Victoria arrives at Asprey's flagship store in London's Bond Street with a camera crew in tow. She visited the outlet to pick out jewels for her forthcoming World Cup charity auction.

They say some things in life are free to those who can afford them and very expensive to those who can't, and that certainly seemed to be the case when Victoria Beckham swept into jewellery firm Asprey's flagship store on Monday. After an hour of negotiations with the company's chairman, Lord Dundas, the England skipper's glamorous wife succeeded in securing some impressive sparklers free of charge.

Victoria's visit to the Bond Street store wasn't motivated by a desire to enlarge her own collection of diamonds, however. Instead she had gone along to ask the Asprey boss, who is an old friend of the singer, to make a contribution to her forthcoming Full Length And Fabulous charity auction.
