CANNES - Oscar-nominated director Marc Rothemund, whose last film offered a dark look at Nazi terror in Munich, is returning to his comic roots with a light-hearted look at the German city's sex film industry in the 1970s.
Rothemund will begin shooting "Pornorama" this fall.
His previous film "Sophie Scholl -- The Final Days," a gripping drama about a Nazi resistance fighter, won almost every prize on offer last throughout Europe last year. It also marked Rothemund's international breakthrough, picking up an Oscar nomination for best foreign-language film (losing to South Africa's "Tsotsi").
In Germany, however, the Bavarian director made his name with mainstream quirky comedies, starting with "Love on Planet Earth" in 1998.
