Avril Lavigne to be next Jolie, Ryder

Avril Lavigne is planning to model herself on Angelina Jolie and Winona Ryder as she tries to launch a movie career.

The Canadian singer provides her voice for new animated film Over the Hedge, but now hopes to be offered some "dark and complicated" roles.

"I really admire Winona and Angelina, so those actresses are the ones I'd love to emulate in serious drama roles," eecho.ie quotes Lavigne as saying.

"I'd like to do something dark and complicated. It would be like some of my music, and it would be another way for me to express myself."
