Daniel Craig has been hailed as the best ever James Bond by the new film's
producers.
Barbara Broccoli - who is the daughter of legendary 007 producer Cubby
Broccoli and who worked with the British actor on upcoming movie 'Casino
Royale' - believes the 38-year-old actor has the charisma and sex appeal to
make him the best 007 of all time.
She told Britain's Hotdog magazine: "He's the best Bond ever. He'll be the
British actor to define his generation. He is such a superb actor.
"He is incredibly sexy, very charismatic and he has enormous screen
presence. When he takes on a role he completely inhabits the character."
The decision to cast Craig in the role of the suave spy angered fans of
previous James Bond star, Pierce Brosnan.
Brosnan, who appeared in four Bond films, including 'Goldeneye' and 'Die
Another Day', only discovered he had been dropped from the role when Craig
told him.
Craig told Brosnan he had been offered the role and asked for advice, not
knowing his predecessor had not yet been told he had been axed.
The 38-year-old blond star said: "I didn't know how much he knew about all
this. But I knew if I wasn't up front with him, if I met him again, I
wouldn't be able to look him in the eye."
