History tends to repeat itself, especially in matters of love and betrayal. The Hollywood celebrities' love stories seem more eye-catching than their performance career sometimes.

Nothing seems to generate more media frenzy than the news of celebrity couples calling it quits.

Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn announced the end of their love, Britney filed for divorce from K-Fed, but the real shocker was watching the rock-solid marriage of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown crumble after more than a decade of drug use, embarrassing behavior, career sabotage and one child together.

It is also truly a year for celebrity breakups, breakups can be contagious, and it seems like they definitely were throughout 2006.
