LOS ANGELES - Kate Hudson is set to star opposite Dane Cook in the comedy "Bachelor No. 2."
Cook plays a man hired to take girls out on terrible dates to prompt them to return to boyfriends they left. Conflict ensues when he offers his services to his best friend and falls for the girl, played by Hudson.
Production is slated to begin in August in Boston, with Howard Deutch directing from Jordan Cahan's screenplay. A third-quarter 2008 release is planned via Lionsgate.
Hudson was in theaters last year with "You, Me and Dupree." She stars opposite Matthew McConaughey in "Fool's Gold," set for a February 2008 release. Cook's recent credits include "Employee of the Month" and "Mr. Brooks."
