Angelina Jolie is to star in new Clint Eastwood drama "The Changeling" about a woman whose son goes missing in 1920s Los Angeles, it was reported on Tuesday.
Jolie, most recently seen playing the widow of murdered Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl in "A Mighty Heart," headlines a cast that also includes John Malkovich, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The film, with multiple Oscar-winner Eastwood directing, is based on true events and tells the story of a woman whose child vanishes.
When the woman's son is returned she suspects police have given her the wrong boy and she is sent to an insane asylum for disagreeing with the LAPD. She later discovers her real son has been murdered and exposes a city-wide corruption scandal.
The film is due for release in 2008.
