2004

An Youqi

She won the top spot in the first season of Supergirl Singing Contest. Then, she signed a record deal and released an album, which was a sales hit.

Wang Ti

She took second place in 2004's Supergirl but withdrew from the public spotlight for two years. After signing with a local record label, she released her debut album in 2007 but sales were below expectations.

She was 16 years old when she got third place in the contest. While trying to be a professional singer and releasing her debut album, Zhang also appeared in advertisements and movies. She gained great popularity for her sweet voice and cuteness.

2005

Li Yuchun

2005's Supergirl champion has become a phenomenon that goes far beyond her voice. Her tomboy image appeared on the cover of numerous magazines, and TIME Asia named her among the 25 Asian Heroes of 2005. Li, a pop singing major at Sichuan Conservatory of Music, has signed with one of the biggest local record companies, Taihe Rye Music, and has released four albums.

Zhou Bichang

The second place winner, who also won a large fan base, has been referred to as a female version of Jay Chou because of her low voice and strong songwriting skills. After a contract dispute lasting several months, the singer finally signed with a new company and released several singles, an EP and three albums. She also starred in films like The 601st Phone Call (Di 601 Ge Dianhua).

While the girl, who is also known as Jane Zhang, didn't win the first place, she stood out for singing English songs and having a high-pitched voice. She has released three albums and made her North American debut in 2007 with a solo concert in Los Angeles. Also called the "Dolphin Princess", Zhang was invited to perform on Oprah Winfrey's talk show this May.

2007

Shang Wenjie

The champion of the third season of Supergirl got the highest number of votes since the first season - more than 5 million. A graduate of Shanghai's Fudan University and a former French-Chinese interpreter, she won popularity for singing French songs. She released an EP afterward and sang the theme song for the 2006 Hollywood film The Painted Veil.

Tan Weiwei

This Sichuan-born singer came to national fame in the summer of 2007 after winning the second place in Supergirl. A professional vocalist who studied in music school, Tan is known for her Tibetan-style songs and performed a concert in Lhasa in 2008.

Liu Liyang

With an appearance similar to Li Yuchun, the tall, tomboyish girl won third place. After signing with a record company, she didn't return to the spotlight until she released her debut album in June.
