Scorsese, DiCaprio reteam for Wall Street tale

LOS ANGELES  - Martin Scorsese will team up with Leonard DiCaprio for a fifth time in "The Wolf of Wall Street," the true story of a disgraced financier.

The project will detail Jordan Belfort's fast-dealing, drug-and-sex-drenched '90s-era tear through the halls of Wall Street, which eventually led to jail time in federal prison for offences related to stock market manipulation.

"After almost four years in development, I can't begin to tell you how thrilled I am to finally be working with Leo and Marty on this," said Belfort, who's now sober.

His memoir was adapted by "Sopranos" writer Terry Winter. The project was originally set up at Warner Bros. with Ridley Scott attached to direct. Its producers, Alexandra Milchan, Scorsese and DiCaprio, will announce financing and production details at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

Scorsese is finishing up his latest, "Hugo Cabret," for a December release, and will follow with an adaptation of the Shusaku Endo novel "Silence." "Wall Street" could follow.

DiCaprio has worked on four films with Scorsese, spanning 2002's "Gangs of New York" to this year's "Shutter Island." He is currently shooting "J. Edgar" for director Clint Eastwood.
