The star's stylist Leslie Fremar says she came up with the stunning teal colour and curve-hugging fit of the 'Legally Blonde' actress' standout gown in a dream, before asking Calvin Klein to design the look.
She told PEOPLE magazine: "I love the colour. I love the fit. I felt like it was very modern. It was moving forward for her in terms of fashion. I feel like it all came together like I wanted it to."
Creating the custom-made gown, which Reese accessorised with Harry Winston jewellery worth a staggering 3.7 million, took one month in total, and the 37-year-old star personally suggesting extra touches like the racerback.
Leslie enthused: "You could see it in her face, that she just felt really good in it. It was a collaboration and it really came together. Everyone was happy."
The stylist didn't want to break the line of the floor-sweeping dress with different coloured shoes so had Reese's Christian Louboutins dyed a matching shade of blue.
She explained: "I had them dyed the colour of her dress, because I didn't want any break in colour. I sent them [a swatch] and they made the shoes to match."
