Chinese architect unveils new design
MAD Architects, the lead designer for Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Chicago, released the design concept of the museum on Nov 4. The museum in the design scheme resembles continuous white mountains that stretch to the nearby Lake Michigan, in an attempt to integrate its architecture with natural surroundings. Headed by Chinese architect Ma Yansong, the firm was selected as the lead designer in July because of "its innovative approach to design and the philosophy of connecting urban spaces to natural landscapes", making it the first Chinese architecture firm to design an overseas cultural landmark. The museum is expected to be completed by 2019.
