Shenbai shows new collection

In brief

Chinese made-to-order brand Shenbai unveiled its 2015 spring/summer collection of wedding gowns and evening dresses in Beijing during China Fashion Week in October. The collection combines Chinese ink-painting art with Baroque style realized with elaborate handwork. The show opened with a gown with prints painted by a group of autistic children. It was then divided into four parts based on color. Liu Xuan, a former Olympic gymnastic champion who wore Shenbai for her own wedding last year, ended the show with a white wedding gown.

French store marks anniversary

Galeries Lafayette Beijing, the French department store's first flagship store in China, held a one-year anniversary celebration recently. Renowned French visual artist Niko de La Faye designed Eiffel Tower-inspired installations and window decor for the occasion. Also on display were the photo exhibition of French artist Benedicte Bro and the conception store of fashion brand Kenzo. Galeries Lafayette Beijing now has more than 500 fashion brands that range from international luxury labels to local designer brands like Chris by Christopher Bu, Chi Zhang, Chictopia, Vega Zaishi Wang and Ma by Ma Studio.
