Eateries ready to score with World Cup
If you are a meatlover, you might want to check out Churrascos, one of the most popular Brazilian barbecue restaurants in Beijing.
Chef Beto Humberto will be dressed in Brazil's national team shirt, while he roasts more than 15 varieties of meats - all marinated before roasting so they are tender and juicy.
Besides different cuts of beef, there are chicken, lamb, pork ribs and squid, served with three sauces to pair with the meats - mint, salsa and chili dips. The buffet station offers soups, rice, dessert and fruits, as well as a salad bar has more than 10 varieties of green vegetables.
The restaurant will be open whenever there are games, projecting them on big screens. There is free-flow Carlsberg beer at 158 yuan per head. Big kebabs of meat come at 40 yuan each.
The buffet with roasted meats and juice costs 158 yuan per head plus 15 percent surcharge from Monday-Saturday, and 198 yuan per head on Sunday. Dinner costs 198 yuan per person.
Finally, have a sip of Brazil's national cocktail, the caipirinha, while you cheer for your favorite players (even if they're not Brazilian). Crystal Bar at the Ritz-Carlton Beijing, Jinrong Street is whipping up the traditional caipirinha, made with cachaca, sugar and lime. Cachaca is fermented and distilled from sugarcane juice. The cocktail is served with pistachio and avocado creme brulee, at 88 yuan per head. The drink will be available throughout the World Cup.
