Eat dim sum, have more fun
The Chinese restaurant at China World Hotel, Summer Palace, is going to add 37 brand new dishes to its dim sum menu in April that they claim to be "hard not to love". After sampling some of the new creations during a media preview, we felt that their confidence exists for a reason.
The food overall was quite easy-going and comfortable. Much attention was paid on the details and food pairing to give us surprises. For example, the soft and moist Beijing style baozi are filled with braised pork and Mexican sea cucumber, the grilled cauliflower is enriched by black truffle sauce, and the black fungus in the clear conch soup is replaced by a rare dark mushroom from East China's Huangshan Mountain.
