据俄罗斯新闻社消息,伊拉克北部库尔德斯坦地区2月17日爆发示威游行,警察在驱散过程中与示威者发生冲突,造成至少2人死亡,40人受伤。
媒体称,因不满当地政府贪污腐败,民众高举反对口号游行抗议并试图进入位于苏莱曼尼亚市(Sulaimaniya)的政府大楼,警察朝示威者开枪,导致数十人死伤。
而令据美国合众国际新闻社报道称,当天爆发的警民冲突造成5人死亡。
近日来,中东地区骚乱狂潮蔓延至伊拉克,造成伊拉克多个省份爆发示威游行活动。伊拉克总理马利基日前呼吁民众保持克制情绪,称“欢迎民众以和平方式行使其法律权利,但不欢迎借此机会煽动暴乱者”。

Protests in Iraqi Kurdistan leave at least two killed, 40 wounded
At least two people have been killed and 40 wounded when Iraqi police dispersed a protest demonstration in Iraqi Kurdistan.
Police opened fire at protesters when they tried to storm the government offices in the city of Sulaimaniya on Thursday, chanting slogans against corruption, the BBC said.
The United Press International news agency said five people were killed in clashes with police.
A series of protests hit Iraq amid a wave of public unrest sweeping through the Middle East and North Africa.
On Wednesday, three people were killed and several dozen injured in clashes with police in the southern Iraqi city of Kut.
Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has called on protesters to maintain order in the country, saying "I welcome those who demonstrate peacefully for their legitimate rights, but I am not in favor of those who exploit those claims to incite riots."
