In the operating room of Sunline, an American doctor was busy performing a surgery on a boy. This was the second time for the 12-year-old boy, named Chen Qiang, to do a palatorrhaphy. Although the doctor injected local anesthesia for him, Chen still hurts during the surgery sometimes. While the boy was so quiet that he didn’t cry.
“Children in America will cry loudly in this case. He is a tough boy.” said the surgeon.
“It is no other than these children that give me power.” Li Jian, a surgeon of Sunline told China Daily. He participated in the project of curing 100 cleft lip and palate children promoted by Sunline and Agape Foundation from the beginning.
Li has been a doctor for 14 years. And he became a communicative bridge between the Chinese doctors and the Americans because of his fluent English.
