Man breaks bones riding in crazy elevator

A man suffered multiple fractures after he took a ride in a broken elevator to get down from his 11-story apartment in Beijing last week.

The elevator went crashing down to the first floor and then, strange as it may sound, headed straight for the top at full throttle.

The injured man was locked in the bone-breaking elevator for almost an hour before a neighbor heard his cries for help.

Neighbors said the lift had not been functional since October last year.
