As an experienced internet user, Qiu said she used to chat with others via social messaging platforms such as QQ, Renren and WeChat, which she said were a little complicated for old people.

"However, through the live video, you just need to talk, and that's all," she said. "How simple and funny!"

Qiu said she could have fun and gain happiness by chatting with young people. "They made me feel young and vibrant."

Liu Hong, Qiu's daughter, said Qiu kept her mind young by making the videos.

"Our family support her and would provide everything she needs such as iPad and Wi-Fi as long as she is happy," Liu said.

However, there are also some followers showing ridicule to her by saying, "You are too old to do the fashionable things which should be done by young people".

"It doesn't matter. It's normal for opinions to differ. But I will keep doing this because I'm happy and my followers are happy," Qiu said proudly.

Another thing that makes her proud is that many of her old friends started to learn from her about how to make live shows.

She said retired people should start a new life the day they leave work.

"Learning new things and meeting new friends can make us feel useful and fulfilling."

Qiu said she was happy and satisfied, thanks to the booming live-streaming industry.
