Chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Donald Tsang has awarded 295 people in this year's Honors List, the city's government announced Saturday.
Six men received the Grand Bauhinia Medal, including Chief Justice Geoffrey Ma Tao-li, outgoing Chief Secretary for Administration of HKSAR government Stephen Lam Sui-lung, Justice Syed Kemal Shah Bokhary, outgoing Secretary for Justice of HKSAR government Wong Yan-lung, Peter Woo Kwong-ching and Lui Che-woo.
Sixteen people received the Gold Bauhinia Star, 36 the Silver Bauhinia Star, eight the Distinguished Service Medals for the disciplined services & the Independent Commission Against Corruption, and 56 the Bronze Bauhinia Star.
Forty-four people were awarded Meritorious Service Medals for the disciplined services & the ICAC, 64 the Medal of Honor, and 47 the Chief Executive's Commendation for Community Service.
Eighteen people received the Chief Executive's Commendation for Government/Public Service.
The recipients are from all walks of life and have been awarded in recognition of their significant contribution to Hong Kong or for their dedicated public and community service.
The presentation ceremony will be held in October.
