Zhang Hua, founder of LinkingMed — a company focusing on helping medical institutes and hospitals analyze medical data -- said the most exciting thing is the revitalization after overcoming an obstacle.

"We wished to apply for a national scientific fundabout 20 million yuan ($2.88 million) but it required applicants to have been established for over a year and we were unqualified," Zhang said.

"When you are a team leader, it is hard for you to give up easily. I contacted a friend working in DIAN Diagnostics — an independent third-party medical diagnostic service vendor — and sparingly, we were eligible to participate in the national application through cooperating with DIAN."
