Dr Stephen Chow Chun-kay, President of Hong Kong Chows Electronics Group

Dr Stephen Chow Chun-kay was born in Hong Kong in 1954 and is a native of Xiashan, Shantou, Guangdong province. He founded Chows Electronics Group of Hong Kong in 1981. The group is a leading supplier and manufacturer of electronics materials and has the largest market share of ultrasonic bonding wire business in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland. Dr Chow and his son, Felix Chow Bok-hin, founded Nichetech Group in 2006 and established its R&D manufacturing facility in Shantou. Nichetech has been officially recognized as the only "Guangdong Provincial Semiconductor and Microelectronics Material Engineering Technology R&D Center". It has also been recognized as a "National High- and New-Technology Enterprise" by the government. Dr Chow has been active in public services, and for that he was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star (BBS) in 2002 and subsequently the Silver Bauhinia Star (SBS) in 2008 by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government. He was also appointed a Justice of the Peace (JP) in 2004.
