Stem Cell Industrial Park under construction in Wenjiang

The Stem Cell Industrial Park, in the Wenjiang district of Chengdu, provincial capital of Sichuan, is under construction and when completed will be the largest stem cell industrial park in Western China.

The park, run by the Sichuan New Life Stem Cell Company, will operate as a grouping of technical service centers, science and technology service centers and marketing and promotion centers, costing 640 million yuan ($102.5 million). Construction is scheduled to be complete by the end of next year and will cover an area of 110,000 square meters. The project will deal mainly with the collection, storage and supply of umbilical cord blood stem cells, research and clinical development of genetic testing and other biomedical technology.
